Zesco is borrowing to import power – Board chair


ZESCO Board Chairperson Vickson Ncube says the power utility is borrowing in order to import 511MW of power. He has urged government institutions not to overly rely on Zesco’s understanding of their circumstances and to pay the debt owed to the company. Ncube adds that Zesco is not financially stable. Speaking when he appeared on Prime TV’s Oxygen of Democracy, Monday night, Ncube was asked if importing 511MW, as announced by Energy Minister Makozo Chikote, was sustainable.
