  • NHIMA owes health facilities around K600m – DG


    NATIONAL Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) Director General Michael Njapau says the Authority is owing around K500 million to K600 million to healthcare facilities. Njapau says the delay in paying healthcare facilities is due to the scheme’s lack of financial capacity, stating that there are currently 5.8 million Zambians on the scheme. Speaking on HOT FM, Thursday, Njapau said according to the contract that NHIMA signed with healthcare facilities, NHIMA is supposed to pay the facilities within 45 days, which he says is an ambitious target. “The contract is 45 days.
