Police in Lusaka have arrested and charged a 55-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing his 13-year-old nephew, authorities said on Saturday.
According to Police Spokesperson, Godfrey Chilabi, the alleged abuse occurred at the suspect’s home in Kabwe between December 2025 and January 2026.
In a statement issued in Lusaka, Chilabi said the matter was reported to Chawama Police Station on February 7, 2026, around 10:00 hours, by a relative of the child from Chawama Compound.

Chilabi reiterated that the Zambia Police Service maintains zero tolerance for gender-based violence and remains committed to ensuring all perpetrators are prosecuted.
He said the Service upheld the rights, best interests, and privacy of the child involved.
