Fear of political competition threatens democracy – Mbita


VETERAN politician Dr Mbita Chitala says the growing fear of political competition by the ruling party poses a serious threat to Zambia’s democracy. He adds that the nation has become dangerously polarised along political, regional and economic lines. Speaking during a Council of Elders press conference, Wednesday, Dr Chitala said state institutions were steadily shifting away from national service toward partisan service. “Our nation is dangerously polarised along party, regional, language and economic lines.
