Chongwe under facelift as CDF rebuilds dilapidated market


FOR years, traders around Lwimba Ward of Chongwe Constituency sold their goods in a dilapidated market, one with a thatched roof and walls thin enough to make them scatter when the wind blew even slightly. But all of that has changed after the 22 all-women member Twelekeshe Group received a K20,000 grant under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Thanks to the grant, the group has transformed the dilapidated structure into a sturdy, painted market shelter that now serves as the beating heart of daily trade in their community.
