  • ECZ warns candidates illegally naming constituencies: “You’ll face consequences”


    ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis has warned those usurping the powers of the Commission by naming constituencies, saying they will face consequences for the offence. Zaloumis says 99 percent of Zambians want the delimitation process to be executed transparently, except perhaps for those who voted against Bill 7. Meanwhile, Copperbelt District Electoral Officers (DEOs) have proposed the addition of 11 new constituencies to the province. Speaking during the opening of the Copperbelt provincial delimitation sitting in Ndola, Zaloumis said the naming of constituencies by aspiring candidates was illegal and could give rise to anarchy in the delimitation process.
