FIVE men will appear in court to explain why they allegedly lied that their private parts went missing after a tap by a man, who was later assaulted over the purposed ‘manhood’ disappearance.
The suspects will also explain why they assaulted the man accused of making their private parts disappear.
Police public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi said in a a statement that this follows complaints from five men identified as Mambwe 45, Mwansa 24, Bwalya, 26, Sichalwe, 21, and Guvulu 35,who reported on March 14, 2026, at Chingola Central Police Station that their private parts had disappeared after being tapped on the shoulder, the Police issued medical report forms to each of them.
“The men subsequently underwent medical examinations, and the findings did not support their claims.
After investigations, the five men were detained on March 16, 2026, and have since been formally charged with the offence of giving false information to a public officer, contrary to Section 125 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia,” Mr Chilabi said.
In a related matter arising from the same incident, Kapansa 61, who was initially accused by the five men of tapping them on the shoulder and allegedly causing their private parts to disappear, filed a complaint against Mambwe for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
A medical report form was issued to facilitate this complaint.
“Following investigations, Mambwe has been formally charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, in addition to the charge of giving false information,” he said
Mr Chilabi said all five suspects are currently in custody awaiting a court appearance.
“The Zambia Police Service reiterates its warning that acts inciting instant mob justice will not be tolerated. Such conduct endangers innocent lives, constitutes a criminal offence, and will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law,’ he said.

MEDIA Personality Daisy Lusumpa, alias, Chichi Daisy, has applied that the cyber-harrassment case against fellow media personality Mutale Mwanza be withdrawn.
Through her lawyers, Ms Lusumpa, has written to the Director of Public Prosecutions Gilbert Phiri to have the case withdrawn.
When the case came up this morning, the prosecution team informed the court that it was in receipt of the withdrawal letter.
It will now be upto the DPP to either allow or reject the application to have the matter withdrawn.
The court case is linked to utterances made by Ms Mwanza after the 2024 Diamond TV Personality of the Year Awards (POTYAS).
Ms Mwanza is accused of posting defamatory remarks on her Facebook page, “M-Nation,” accusing Ms Lusumpa.
Ms Lusumpa filed a criminal complaint at police, leading to the arrest of 38-year-old Ms Mwanza, who was later charged with harassment utilizing means of electronic communication, contrary to Section 69 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
It is alleged that on November 7, 2024, Ms Mwanza used her Facebook page- M-Nation-with the intention to intimidate, harass or cause emotional distress to Ms Lusumpa.
Ms Mwanza allegedly published derogatory words against Ms Lusumpa, whom she also accused of having an affair with a named politician called “Bowman”

A Lusaka businessman has appeared in court facing multiple offences, including possession of a firearm without a licence and ownership of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Martin Mbaya, who is in his 50s, appeared before Lusaka Magistrate Paul Namakando facing five criminal charges.
In one count, it is alleged that on April 21, 2024, Mbaya had in his possession a 9 millimetre pistol without a licence and was also in unlawful possession of ammunition.
The accused, a reported Patriotic Front (PF) member and family associate of former president Edgar Lungu, is also accused of uttering false documents.
When the matter was called, State prosecutor Stuyvesant Malambo informed the court that the case had not yet been allocated to a prosecutor.
Magistrate Namakando urged the prosecution team to put its house in order, considering that the matter is before the time-bound Economic and Financial Crimes Court.
The case was adjourned to today for a status conference in readiness for a possible plea and trial.
In 2024, the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) arrested Mbaya for various offences.
In a statement, DEC public relations officer Allan Tamba said the accused was found in possession of a Toyota Land Cruiser reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
It was also alleged that he had a Girsan pistol with 96 rounds of ammunition without holding a licence.
Mr Tamba further said that between January 2022 and April 21, 2024, Mbaya allegedly forged a firearm licence with intent to deceive, falsely purporting it to have been genuinely issued by the Lusaka City Council.
It is further alleged that the purportedly forged licence was uttered to DEC.
