Trump is “fuming” and “embarrassed” as his $400 million Qatari jet becomes a national punchline

Trump is fuming, and this time it’s not about crowd sizes.

The president is reportedly “embarrassed and angry” after his prized Air Force One, the $400 million luxury jet gifted by the Qatari government, blew up into a full-scale scandal over its security flaws, according to sources who spoke to CNN.

The whole thing unraveled when The New York Times asked Trump a simple question: why wasn’t he flying his shiny new plane home from the NATO Summit in Turkey?

Trump’s answer was that the aircraft was being sent around to military bases so it could be “shown to soldiers.” That’s right. The most powerful man in the world claimed his plane was on a farewell tour, like a retiring mascot.

Nobody believed it. The explanation raised eyebrows across Washington and prompted intense criticism from reporters who suspected the real reason was sitting in the Times’ own reporting: the plane has security problems the White House doesn’t want to talk about.

Instead of answering questions, the Trump administration issued subpoenas to four New York Times reporters on Friday, a shocking legal move the outlet linked directly to its reporting on the aircraft’s flaws.

Meanwhile, Secret Service sources told MS NOW’s Carol Leonnig that Trump is “embarrassed” by the entire saga. FBI Director Kash Patel was summoned to the White House the same day, forced to cancel a trip to Chicago where, according to MS NOW, his country singer girlfriend was set to perform, amid growing questions about his taxpayer-funded travel.

So to recap: Trump accepted a free plane from a foreign government, the plane apparently isn’t safe enough to fly him, he invented a story about showing it to the troops, and when reporters caught him, he subpoenaed them.

The plane was supposed to be a flex. Instead it’s a $400 million monument to a presidency that can’t survive a follow-up question.- Really American
