Police in Mokambo have intercepted a consignment of suspected stolen copper plates, leading to the arrest of one person in connection with the alleged theft.
The consignment was seized in Mufulira, according to a news clip monitored on Thursday from Mafken Television.
Mwala Yuyi displayed the recovered copper plates, which officers at Mokambo Police Post seized on February 7, 2026.
He said the operation followed a tip-off from members of the public who had reported suspicious activity in the area.

“Acting on the information, officers intercepted a Zambian-registered truck that was transporting the unclaimed copper at the time,” he said.
Yuyi added that one suspect had been arrested and that investigations were ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the copper.
