Mundubile’s administration to be unique from ECL and Sata’s, Kambwili assures voters
FORMER Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili says it is misleading to suggest that a government led by NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile would be a replica of the administrations of former Presidents Edgar Lungu or Michael Sata.
Speaking during a radio interview, Kambwili argued that every President has the constitutional authority to appoint a Cabinet and assemble a team that reflects their own vision, policies and governing priorities.
He said if elected in the August 13 general election, Mundubile would govern based on his party’s manifesto and policy agenda, rather than those of previous administrations.
“The power in this country is vested in the President to create a team that is going to help him. This team is called the Cabinet.
“So, if there was President Edgar Lungu when the PF ruled, and then Brian Mundubile comes into power the way he is coming into office on August 13, Mundubile and his party have a manifesto and policies on how to serve Zambia,” Kambwili said.
He added: “He also has people to help him drive the agenda that he wants to drive for his country. It is totally different from President Lungu’s administration. It is totally different from President Michael Sata’s administration.”
Kambwili further dismissed assertions that individuals who served under the previous Patriotic Front administration would inevitably perform poorly if returned into government.
He said such arguments ignore the fact that political parties often learn from their time in opposition and return to office with improved policies and governance strategies.
“To try and say that because they failed under President Lungu, if you elect those that were under him they will also fail, is a lie.
“Had they been doing this in Europe, those countries would not have developed. The reason those countries have developed is when a party is removed from office, they go back to the drawing board, learn from their mistakes and when they return, they govern exceptionally well,” he said.
Kambwili added that anyone insisting former office holders should never return to power is merely seeking to safeguard their own political position.
“So, for a person to insist that those who left office should therefore not come back, just know that that person is a liar. All he wants is to protect his stay in power,” he said.

This ma has the nerve to state this. Has the same :
1. Mundubile not been a Part of the PF MCC as Chair of the legal Committee and Milingo Lungu as his deputy? And this was when PF was in power.
2. Wasnt mundubile leader of the Opposition until the splinter groups of PF were formed and Lubinda kicked him out of PF?
3. This has been washed out convict of a man who has no party loyalty and not respect for formal organisation led Mundubile in PF. He claimed it was corrupt and resigned to form his own party that he was later kicked out of. Yet Mundubile remained in PF under Edgar Lungu and never resigned only to be kicked out of PF cause of its intolerable nature of failing to acknowledge and manage decent.
4. Mundubile has stated that he will rule as Lungu ruled. Without vision or direction. And today this man wants to tell us Mundubilie is different? Lies.. and a failed notion that this man or anyone who existed in the PF party can be any different. Sorry Ba Charity or Kilometer…but it includes you. Zero value addition.
Birds of the same feather….
But it’s Brian Mundubile himself who keeps saying that he’ll govern like Edgar Lungu if he gets elected as President of Zambia. What’s Chishimba Kambwili talking about?
Kambwili is very broke and desperate to regain access to government contracts. Na reasoning baliposa.
There goes motor mouth again. The same mouth which accussed Mr. Mundubile of shady government contracts.
This man has no convictions. He moves with the wind. Totally devoid of shame.
I agree with EMC that Kambwili may be financially struggling. His endorsement of Mundubile seems to be a strategic move, as he believes that aligning with Mundubile offers a better opportunity to access government reserves compared to aligning with HH. One of HH’s key principles is strong opposition to corruption, and many of his endorsements come from individuals with no history of misusing government funds.
