FOURTEEN cadres linked to the recent political violence in Chawama have been charged with multiple offences in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court ranging from assault, theft and malicious damage to property. Recently, UPND and Tonse Pamodzi Alliance cadres clashed in Chawama after some suspected Tonse Pamodzi Alliance cadres went to disrupt a meeting hosted by UPND Chawama aspiring candidate Abel Ng’andu. Later, police in Lusaka arrested five male suspects in connection with the incident of political violence that occurred in Chawama on June 6, 2026.
