THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has granted a K50,000 cash bail to 14 cadres linked to the recent political violence in Chawama. The 14 are charged with multiple offences ranging from assault, theft and malicious damage to property. In count one, Happy Siuluta is charged with the offence of assault on a police officer, contrary to Section 250(b) of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that Siuluta, on June 5, 2026, in Lusaka, did assault number 42033 Constable Langston Lungu, an officer of the Zambia Police Service, in the due execution of his duty.
