  • Nurses’ union queries delay in hiring 2,000 health workers


    THE Zambia Union of Nurses and Midwives Organisation (ZUNMO) has expressed concern over the announcement that the 2025 recruitment of health personnel will be concluded between now and December. The organisation says it is illogical that the 2025 recruitment is being done in 2026. Speaking on Diamond TV’s “Costa” programme, Health Minister Dr Elijah Muchima disclosed that government would recruit the 2,000 health workers who were supposed to be employed last year before the end of this year. Dr Muchima explained that the recruitment was delayed because it involved a number of processes, and once all the processes were completed, the 2,000 health workers would be employed.
