In this case, questions continue to surround the circumstances following the death of former President Edgar Lungu. Malukula has restricted access to the body and has not publicly disclosed details about the cause of death. At the same time, he moved quickly to announce his intention to run for president—despite the late former leader’s well-known desire to return to office, even after a Constitutional Court ruling deemed him ineligible.
His actions since then have raised further scrutiny. He has actively campaigned against allowing the Zambian government to accord the former president a state burial, offering reasons that many observers find unclear. Additionally, he has been engaged in legal battles, including a case in South Africa that was dismissed after key documents were not filed in time.
These developments have led some to question the sequence of events—particularly the speed of his political declaration following Lungu’s death and the subsequent support he has received within party structures.
This write-up mirrors my thoughts on Lungu’s death. There is so much going on on social media where people are speculating that he may have been murdered. If indeed that is the case, what would the motive have been, and who could be responsible? There seems to be only one individual with a clear motive. Someone who thought he was going to benefit from his death. The UPND media director is not helping matters by posting fragmented updates on social media. This role requires mature and serious-minded individuals.
Becoming abundantly clear Malukula has a hand in the death of ECL.
The saying goes; Your best friend is your best or #1 enemy because he/she has all the time to do any evil without being suspected.
Naturally, Malukula’s behavior after the death of ECL is suspicious i may wrong/right but basically it is clear to see.
That’s why it is not SAFE to alocated your properties while you’re still alive lest THEY will kill you to gain full possession of the property. Malukula was anointed by ECL for succession.
Sadly, abakaele have been implicated by him. Even the wishes of ECL were fabricated by him to suit his political mileage. Unfortunately, it is more louder and readable than the actual truth.
