The continued media appearances by the Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha on the ECL burial impasse are not calming tensions — they are inflaming them. Confusing statements, back-and-forth narratives, and public posturing are only deepening the divide.
You cannot resolve a sensitive and highly divisive matter like this issue through press briefings and headlines.
Step away from the cameras.
Sit down with the family. Engage all parties privately, respectfully, and with humility.
Suspend all court processes and dialogue outside the courts.
This cho-chise, tit-for-tat exchange in the media must stop. It is undignified, unnecessary, and painful to watch.
This moment demands wisdom, restraint, and empathy — not public combat.

He is just doing his job. Without those updates propagandists like Mwamba, Makebi and yourself will be feeding us without wrong information. Infact it’s you who should stay away from the media as you’re not adding any value to our politics, including all the opposition members. You guys have no message to lure the voters. Yes, malicious people like Antonio Mwanza should shut up. You are the ones who have been misleading the public and create division in the nation. The witchcraft mentality most of these Zambians have is quite sad. When they hate someone for nothing, they end up fabricating anything their demons tell them.
Why don’t you realize that by telling lies, you are not gaining popularity, by you are instead damaging yourselves. You think, you can hoodwink 20 million Zambians in this computer age.
Take caution before you completely damage yourselves.
But surely you want him to keep quiet so that the people can believe in fake news from liars.This is like saying don’t fight back when one is being punched right and center.You must stop those spreading falsehoods too.
The A.G. should be vocal now as there is too much propaganda going on. I am happy that the president has stated that he will keep away from the funeral. Let ECL be buried like a common man. He cannot have a beffiting funeral without the commander in chief but this witchcraft nonsense is tarnishing our nation. In this day and age for people to believe in that?
The problem with most Zambian politicians is their desire to twist facts. How do you expect him to stay away from the media when the opposition is twisting the facts when anyone can see the truth? How can someone tell lies about what happened and expect no response to clarify the matter and yet expect to be president by lying even where there is documentary evidence. Someone went on television insinuating that the family was of the view that the former head of state was poisoned and that an investigation in the cause of death should be conducted and the party stands with the family. When such an investigation is happening you turn round and condemn it. What are you hiding?
The president ordered that any issues regarding the funeral of Edgar Lungu should be communicated solely by Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha to the general public. You want him to stay away from the media, why? You want to be getting information from your fellow propagandists, those with a warped mindset. Do you feel proud of yourself knowing that the information you have is incorrect?
The level of immaturity of some opposition leaders is really below acceptable standards. Who has more credible information than the Attorney General?
Grow up guys. You are dealing with a government which respects it’s appointed official and legal appointees. Tells us which information is conflicting here. Please go do some home work because you are embarrassing us with your ignorance now.
