ZAMBIA HAS CHANGED. HAVE THE POLITICIANS NOTICED?

ZAMBIA HAS CHANGED. HAVE THE POLITICIANS NOTICED?

One thing continues to puzzle me.

Many political players appear not to have noticed that Zambia’s political terrain has fundamentally changed since 2021. The next election will probably be the most technical election our country has witnessed since Independence.

This is no longer an era where slogans alone can carry the day. It is no longer enough to shout the loudest, insult the most, or manufacture tribal fears. Those methods have been tested repeatedly over the years. Zambia has heard them before.

The modern voter is exposed to more information than at any other time in our history. Citizens are comparing promises with outcomes, narratives with facts, and emotions with realities. Every statement is scrutinised. Every claim is challenged. Every argument is weighed.

That is why I believe those underwriting politics based on division, ethnic profiling, bitterness and perpetual outrage may be studying a Zambia that no longer exists.

The election ahead will not be a contest of who can provoke the most anger. It will be a contest of who best understands the aspirations and intelligence of the Zambian people. It’s time to speak to the hopes of the nation, not merely the fears of its tribes.

I just love this photo. The iconic representation of PF vilonce and thuggery.
Lest people forget where we are coming from, let us have more of this.
PF was truly a disaster for our country and someone has promised to rule like Mr. Lungu, his mentor.
The transformation from the violence of the PF regime is staggering. To imagine people can now move around in whatever party regalia they choose is gratifying. And some blind people claim the democratic space has shrunk. Hypocrites!!
Tell them my brother, they forget the chaos that was a part of their rule and may never quit their trade mark. It is still a part of their DNA.
It will take a generation for memories of pangas and bad governance to fade in people’s minds the PF gang brought to Zambia. They can compose songs, wear shine suits, but that is just sheer waste of time. PF was nothing but a violent directionless party. All those figures we see who are and were PF are just wasting time and money thinking Zambians have short memories. We are in the land of peace now and we are not prepared to let it go.
We must NEVER forget this dark episode of our history. PF violence and thuggery must be remembered from generation to generation. It is a stark reminder of what happens when a nation goes to sleep and ignores holding its leadership to high levels of account.
It must be remembered like the holocaust is to the Jews. There is a saying which goes like “Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it”.
We must remain vigilant against politicians who come as wolves in sheep skins. More money in your pockets, they said, and then went on to strip the treasury and line their pockets with stolen money leaving the nation with a debt burden that hangs on our neck like a millstone.
This vigilance must be extended even to UPND. They are not angels and their every move must be scrutinised. Trust is good but control is better.

PF criminals killed mike mulongoti, fresher siwali and Francis mukuka. When HH was arrested they almost poisoned him luckily enough prisoner officers tipped him I therefore reminding Zambians not to trust PF criminals again, people to get a job used to pay k20000 to a cadre.
