IRIS KAINGU DUMPS UPND – “I WAS NOT ACCEPTED, MY ASPIRATION FAILED”

IRIS KAINGU DUMPS UPND – “I WAS NOT ACCEPTED, MY ASPIRATION FAILED”

In a dramatic political move, Iris Kaingu Kamwi has formally resigned from the United Party for National Development (UPND) and fully dissociated herself from the ruling party.

In her resignation letter addressed to the UPND Secretary General, Kaingu disclosed that despite her willingness to actively engage in party affairs in Mwandi Constituency, she was never welcomed. Her ambition to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections on the UPND ticket was also unsuccessful.

“I have resolved to terminate my association with the party and pursue other avenues through which I may continue serving the people of Mwandi and the nation,” she stated.

The letter has also been copied to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and party leadership from constituency to provincial level.
Iris Kaingu joined UPND not out of genuine conviction, but as a political opportunist seeking adoption and personal advancement. Pretended loyalty and hidden motives are eventually put to the test. When that test comes, true intentions are revealed, and any underlying agendas are exposed for what they are.
In politics, sincerity and commitment ultimately distinguish those who serve a cause from those who merely seek to benefit from it.
I thought this individual was mu PF.Anyway,UPND did well not to adopt her,she has no morals,if I was from Mwandi,I would not want such individual in parliament representing me.Thats just the truth.
Tekanya mufana wanga. You are still young ,remain in the UPND the winning team. Some of us were fired in 2022 by the PF led quasi government institution & betrayed by other UPND officials as continue to fod reintatement . We have not stopped supporring because on the bigger picture UPND means well for this nation. Tekanya mwaice & rescind your decision.
She has resigned from UPND not only because she was not adopted for MP under UPND but also to be able to stand as an independent MP, one has to resign from a political party, in this case from UPND in the nick of time, before 11th June, 2026.
Why does UPND encumber itself with such dead weight?
