Lack of dialogue among political parties is making politics toxic – VJ


VETERAN politician Vernon Mwaanga is urging political party leaders to show maturity and respect for each other, saying the absence of dialogue between political parties is making politics toxic. Commenting on Zambia’s current democratic dispensation compared to the early days of multi-party democracy, Mwaanga noted that during the MMD era a Centre for Inter-Party Dialogue was established to promote engagement among political parties, but he said the centre has since remained inactive. “Every political party which has been in government had been accused by the opposition of eroding or undermining democracy in one form or another.
