DEC seeks forfeiture of gold, mercury seized at Kapiri checkpoint
THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has asked the Lusaka High Court to grant a non-conviction-based forfeiture order for gold, mercury and K153,895 in cash intercepted at a routine checkpoint in Kapiri. In an affidavit in support of the application, DEC assistant investigations officer Jimmy Changano said the seizure of the said items occurred on September 6, 2023, when DEC officers stopped an unregistered vehicle at the Kapiri Mposhi checkpoint.
