Only 72 out of 922 whistleblower tips investigated – ACC


THE Anti-Corruption Commission has disclosed that 72 of the 922 corruption complaints received via its Online Whistleblower System since 2024 have been authorised for investigation. Meanwhile, Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa says whistleblowing plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of electoral processes. Speaking during the commemoration of World Whistleblower Day, Tuesday, ACC Assistant Director for Corruption Prevention Kelvin Siwale highlighted that the low number of authorised complaints shows that most of the complaints do not border on corruption. “922 complaints have been received on the OAWS (Online Anonymous Whistleblower System) from 2024 to date, while 72 complaints have been authorised for investigations.
