Govt extends suspension of fuel waivers
GOVERNMENT says it has extended the temporary suspension of fuel tax waivers for a further 90 days. Cabinet In April approved the temporary suspension of Excise Duty and Zero Rating of Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel for three months in a bid to cushion consumers from the adverse impact of increased international oil prices. In a statement posted on his Facebook Page, Wednesday, Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana stated that the measure intended to continue cushioning citizens and businesses from elevated fuel costs.
