Elections : Why HH Is Upset With Popularity Of Independent Candidates
President Hakainde Hichilema has repeatedly his dislikes of independent candidates claiming to have his endorsement.
Mr. Hichilema instead urged people of Western Province to rally behind unpopular candidates contesting on the UPND ticket.He was speaking when he addressed residents in Kalabo district.
Now, check the numbers on the attached picture why, President Hichilema is having “sleeping sickness” when he looks at the graph of popular independent candidates.
There are about 184 independent candidates, 155 NRPUP candidates against 226 unpopular UPND candidates.

WHY DOES HE THINK MUNDUBILE SHOULD BE OKAY WITH 155 and NOT BE CONCERNED WITH the INDEPENDENT?
WHAT MAKES HIM THINK THE INDEPENDENTS ARE IN FAVOUR OF MUNDUBILE?
Independent candidates are the best candidates as they dont have to follow any party but follow what the people who voted for them.
As general Kanene has observed, this is a stupid analysis. In politics there is no guarantee in anything until you win. So the independent candidates cannot be classified as popular when none of them has won any seat yet. What proof is there to show that they are popular? Moreover not all the 184 will win and not all the 155 will win just as all the 226 will not win. The President is not upset with any one, he just wants the people he can comfortably work with and support him when the Bills are being passed. So to claim that Independent candidates are popular and UPND candidates are unpopular is being self delusional, popular candidates are only those who shall win.
