LEGENDARY AFRICAN WOMEN’S FOOTBALL COACH PASSES AWAY

The football family has been thrown into mourning following the passing of former Copper Queens head coach Bruce Mwape.
Mwape will forever be remembered for guiding Zambia to historic milestones, including qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), and the Olympic Games.
His contribution to the growth of women’s football in Zambia and across Africa was extraordinary. He inspired generations of female footballers and helped put Zambian women’s football on the global map.
A true legend of the game has taken his final bow, but his legacy will live on forever.

My condolences to his family. A gallant son of the land indeed. We are with you my brothers and sisters in mourning the passing of our dear brother.
May the good Lord give you strength in this dark hour of your family.

Mr. Mwape did and achieved more for the women’s national team than the expatriate coach who took over from him yet his renumeration was probably just a fraction of what the expatriate coach gets.
Very sad how we treat our own.
