Candidates who resigned after 6th July will appear on ballot paper, but can’t contest – ECZ


THE Electoral commission of Zambia (ECZ) says candidates who submitted their resignation letters after 6th July, 2026 will still appear on the ballot papers but will not be eligible to contest the elections . In a statement, Thursday, ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga said 6th July, 2026 was the administrative cutoff date for the receipt of candidates’ resignations for purposes of removing candidates’ names from the ballot papers.
