Ramaphosa extends Madlanga Commission deadline to November
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deadline for the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System, giving it more time to conclude its work.
The Commission will now submit its final report on November 16, 2026, instead of the original August 31 deadline.
Under the extension, the Commission must conclude the hearing of evidence by October 2, 2026, allowing it to complete investigations into all matters covered by its terms of reference before compiling its final report.
The Presidency said the extension will enable the Commission to close outstanding issues that emerged during public hearings and ensure all relevant evidence is considered before the inquiry concludes.
Carrim and Khani will now recover and appear before the Madlanga commission. Malema will have to appear as well. Job well done Ramaphosa. We salute!
