SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT SAYS IT WILL DEFEND THE COUNTRY AGAINST WHAT IT CALLS UNWARRANTED ATTACKS FROM OTHER NATIONS
South African Minister Mmamoloko “Nkhensani” Kubayi says the government will continue defending the country’s reputation against what it describes as unfair criticism from other nations.
Speaking during a media briefing, Kubayi said it does not help when countries make what the government considers unwarranted attacks against South Africa. Responding to a question from a Nigerian journalist, she said the government has a responsibility to defend the country and protect the interests of South Africans as their elected representatives.
Her remarks come amid growing international debate over South Africa’s domestic affairs and have sparked discussion online, with many people sharing different opinions on whether the government is doing enough to defend the country’s image abroad.
