Citizen First Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has defended the Patriotic Front’s record in government, saying its biggest shortcoming was caderism, not development.
Speaking at a Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance campaign rally in Luapula Province yesterday, Mr. Kambwili said the PF administration delivered on infrastructure and other development programmes, but acknowledged that caderism damaged the party’s image.
“The PF government delivered. The only issue it had was caderism,” Mr. Kambwili told supporters.
He said Brian Mundubile, the Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance presidential candidate, has assured Zambians that caderism will not return if he is elected President.
According to Mr. Kambwili, the alliance is committed to providing leadership that promotes development while ensuring that the excesses associated with political cadres are not repeated.
The remarks come as political parties continue to campaign ahead of the 13 August General Election, with candidates outlining their plans and contrasting their records and visions for Zambia’s future.
With Mr. Mundubile as president of Zambia, all the evils we witnessed under PF will return except this time it will be two times worse, double the dose. He promised that he will rule like his mentor, Mr. Lungu.
PF has just been given a sheep’s skin as NRPUP(?) or Tonse alliance. But inside, it is still a ravenous wolf. These people only know one way to govern, chaos. Just take the example of Mr. Kambwili himself and the confusion he has caused in Mr. Kalaba’s CF. He is contesting as MP under CF ticket but supporting another party’s presidential candidate and to him, that is perfectly normal. What kind of governance can you expect from such people?
These former PF officials donot see anything wrong with the way they governed our country when they were in power. They actually think they did a great job. It is foolish to believe that they have changed.
