STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF DR. GUY SCOTT
It is with profound sadness and deep regret that I have learned of the passing of former Republican Vice President and former Acting President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Guy Scott.
I have just arrived at the funeral house to pay my respects.
At this solemn moment, I wish to urge all Zambians, politicians and non politicians alike, to use this occasion for deep reflection and to refrain from polluting or tainting the memory of this great son of the soil with divisive political rhetoric.
Dr. Guy Scott served our nation with distinction, dedication and patriotism. Let us honour his life and legacy by mourning him with the dignity, respect and unity that his service to our country and its people deserves.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
