Russia sends “doomsday plane” to join forces with Iran.
A Russian government-operated Tupolev Tu-214PU (registration RA-64531), assigned to the Rossiya Special Flight Squadron, landed in Tehran on July 13, 2026, as U.S. military operations against Iran continued.
The Tu-214PU is a specialized government aircraft used to transport senior Russian state officials and support high-level government missions.
The purpose of the flight has not been officially disclosed. However, its arrival during heightened U.S.-Iran tensions has drawn attention from analysts, who say the visit could be interpreted as a diplomatic or strategic signal amid the escalating regional crisis.
