Number of fake professors worries HEA
THE High Education Authority (HEA) says there is need to strengthen the verification of academic credentials to reduce the number of fake professors. And the Authority says during the second quarter of 2026, surveillance activities uncovered that institutions are operating outside the legal framework governing higher education. Speaking during the opening of Winter School, HEA Director General Professor Kazhila Chinsembu said the emergence of fake professors was a growing threat and a direct assault on the credibility of universities.
