Court clears farmer of burial trespassing charge
A 62-YEAR-OLD farmer has been cleared of criminal trespassing charges at a burial site after the state’s key witnesses vanished from their village following the incident. In this matter, Godfrey Chaasha is facing one count of trespassing on burial places Contrary to Section 130 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. It is alleged that Chaasha between December 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 in Lusaka jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown, with intention of wounding the feelings of Moses Maulu , did trespass upon Jacob cemetery, the burial site of the late grandfather to said Mr Maulu.
