THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) says rehabilitation works at Kafue Roundabout have reached 90 percent completion, with the project expected to be completed soon.
The rehabilitation is being undertaken by Wonderful Group of Companies Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, while the works are being supervised by the council’s Department of Engineering and Infrastructure Development.
LCC said the project is aimed at improving the city’s road infrastructure while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Lusaka for the benefit of residents and motorists.
This is according to a statement issued by LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba.
“The Lusaka City Council (LCC) wishes to inform members of the public that rehabilitation works at the Kafue Roundabout have reached 90 percent towards completion. The project is being undertaken by Wonderful Group of Companies Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The works are being supervised by the LCC’s Department of Engineering and Infrastructure Development. The initiative is intended to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city and improve road infrastructure for the benefit of residents. The project is at an advanced stage and is nearing completion,” she stated.
Mwamba further disclosed that once works at Kafue Roundabout are completed, rehabilitation will immediately commence at Kabwe Roundabout in partnership with Wonderful Group of Companies.
“Upon completion of the Kafue Roundabout, the Council, in collaboration with Wonderful Group of Companies, will commence similar rehabilitation works at Kabwe Roundabout. LCC remains committed to partnering with stakeholders to deliver quality infrastructure that supports economic growth and enhances the quality of life for residents. The Council urges motorists and members of the public to adhere to traffic guidance and observe all safety measures in the area as final works are concluded. In addition, the Council appeals to the public to safeguard public infrastructure and refrain from acts of vandalism in order to preserve the lifespan and integrity of public assets,” stated Mwamba.
