PROPHET SUNDAY SINYANGWE REFUSES TO NAME ZAMBIA’S NEXT PRESIDENT.
Shalom Embassy International Overseer Prophet Sunday Sinyangwe has surprised many by refusing to predict who will win the August 13 General Elections.
The outspoken cleric, who once made national headlines with a bold prophecy about President Hakainde Hichilema before the 2021 elections, says he will not reveal the country’s next Head of State and has no intention of endorsing any presidential candidate.
Prophet Sinyangwe says the decision belongs to God, while the responsibility of choosing the country’s next leaders belongs to the Zambian people.
In a Facebook statement, the preacher emphasized that he remains politically neutral and will not campaign for any candidate or political party.
“First of all, I am a Zambian who has the right to add value to our nation. Many have asked me who they should vote for. As a clergy, I remain non-partisan and do not belong to any political party. My role is not to endorse candidates but to encourage every citizen to exercise his or her sacred right to vote,” he wrote.
He encouraged voters to support leaders who can inspire hope, protect the nation’s future, and promote justice and unity.
“Voting is more than a civic duty, it is a moral responsibility. It is an opportunity to shape the future of our communities and our beloved Zambia in a way that reflects justice, compassion, and hope. When we cast our ballots, we are not merely choosing leaders we are affirming the values we believe should guide society,” he added.
Prophet Sinyangwe’s comments are likely to attract widespread attention, given his controversial 2021 declaration that then opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema would never become President after stepping onto his altar.
Hichilema went on to win that election, making the prophecy a subject of intense public debate.
This time, however, the cleric appears determined to stay away from election predictions, leaving the outcome to the ballot box and to God.
