In a country where culture and traditional values are highly respected, the modeling industry has often faced criticism and misunderstanding. For years, many people viewed modeling negatively, with its challenges receiving more attention than the opportunities it creates.
Another common belief has been that modeling is a career meant only for women. This perception has discouraged many young men from pursuing the profession or taking part in modeling competitions.
However, attitudes are beginning to change.
A major milestone has been achieved by young Zambian model Luay Latif, who was selected by ARM Model Management to represent Zambia at the prestigious Mister Supranational international competition. It marks the first time Zambia has had a representative at the annual male pageant.
Even more impressive, Luay has secured a place among the competition’s Top 10 finalists, proving that Zambian talent can compete on the global stage.
As more young people embrace the profession and earn international recognition, the industry continues to open doors,challenge old stereotypes,and proudly showcase Zambia to the world.
