Marcelo wasn’t happy with Egypt’s disallowed goal:
“I don’t know if football is becoming too soft or the referee was picking sides. Who gives that as a foul? The referee allowed it, but VAR called him over… isn’t that suspicious?”
“If this was played 10 years ago, no referee would have given that as a foul.”
Marcelo questioned both the decision itself and VAR’s intervention, adding to the growing debate over the consistency of officiating after Egypt’s controversial disallowed goal.
