😤 Egypt’s supporters didn’t take it as just another defeat: they took it as a robbery. After going out of the 2026 World Cup despite leading 2-0, fans turned on Gianni Infantino and branded him the man behind a tournament they say is rigged for the reigning champions. Online, they declared him persona non grata and demanded he never set foot in Egypt again.

🗣️ And it wasn’t only the crowd. Coach Hossam Hassan laid the accusation on the table himself: he said his team suffered “an injustice” and that Argentina pressured French referee François Letexier.

Forward Mostafa Ziko went even sharper, blasting that “the tournament is rigged” and ironically congratulating Argentina on a cup he says is already handed to them.

📺 The anger comes down to two VAR calls: a legitimate goal disallowed for Egypt, and a shirt-pull before Argentina’s third goal that they claim wasn’t even reviewed. On top of it all, a video of Infantino celebrating in the stands went viral within minutes and lit the fuse among supporters.

🌍 For Egyptians, the message is one: Infantino and his FIFA stole the World Cup from them in plain sight.

On the other side, Argentina celebrates reaching the quarterfinals. But the image left ringing around the world isn’t Enzo’s goal, it’s an entire nation accusing the most powerful man in football of rigging the game.
