People Are Suffering More Now Than Under PF- Chishimba Kambwili
First Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has claimed that many Zambians are experiencing greater economic hardship today than they did during the Patriotic Front (PF) administration.
Speaking at a National Revolution Party for Unity and Progress (NRPUP) campaign rally in Nsama District, Kambwili criticised the ruling UPND’s message that the country would suffer if it lost power.
“They should stop telling people that they will suffer if the UPND is removed from office. People are already suffering more now because of the high cost of living,” Kambwili said.
He argued that the rising prices of essential goods and services have made life more difficult for many households and urged voters to judge the government based on their own living conditions.
Kambwili made the remarks as opposition parties continue campaigning ahead of the August 13 General Election.
The UPND has consistently maintained that economic reforms implemented since 2021 are laying the foundation for long-term growth and that improvements in mining, education and debt restructuring will deliver greater benefits over time.
Kambwili! Does he listen to what comes out of his mouth?
And the funny thing is that you are not telling the truth. Who caused that suffering? The suffering now isnt cause of UPND. UPND is and has been solving the problems of debt caused by PF. As for the cost of living. Its a global issue. Go anywhere in the world today. All countries are dealing with this. This is as a result of COVID followed by the two wars in Urkrain and Iran. So stop deflecting and blaming others when Kambwili the very people you suffer borrowed heavily and cause the same debt that has been solve or being resolved.

There goes motor mouth. The cost of living is high, no argument about that. But you cant ignore the genesis of the problem – PF financial indiscipline.
As for prices, was there ever a time when prices came down under PF? The much talked about meal meal was at K35 for 25Kg when PF took over from MMD in 2011. When they left in 2021, the price was K175. Petrol was K5 per litre in 2011 and K17 in 2021. At no time did the price of a comodity come down under PF.
Prices tend to go up and not down. It is more a matter of slowing down the rate. Even under any other party in government, including that of Mr. Mundubile, prices will go up most likely at an alarming rate considering his approach of feasting on reserves.
