Court hears how woman was beaten by her son in-law
A MTENDERE woman has lamented before the court how her son-in-law smoked weed before beating her after she informed him that her daughter’s child did not belong to him. Her son-in-law, Kelvin Lyambai, who did not deny the claim, told the court in his defence that he beat her because she disliked him, opposed his marriage to her daughter, and encouraged her daughter to cheat on him with three men. This is a matter in which Kelvin Lyambai, 36, of Mtendere, has taken his mother-in-law, Sharon Mwila, 39, of Mtendere East, to court seeking reconciliation over payment for causing pregnancy after she claimed that the child is not his.
