Kyiv declares Day of Mourning after deadly Russian strike

Kyiv has declared July 7, 2026, a Day of Mourning following Russia’s large-scale missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian capital.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko ordered flags to be flown at half-mast across the city, while all public celebrations and entertainment events have been canceled in tribute to the victims.

The latest official toll has risen to at least 11–12 people killed and more than 46 injured. Search and rescue operations have now concluded after emergency crews spent hours clearing the rubble of damaged apartment buildings in Podilskyi district.
