Nkhwazi denies liability in sexual assault case involving G6 pupil
NKHWAZI Primary School has told the Lusaka High Court that it is not liable for the alleged sexual assault and psychological trauma suffered by a Grade six pupil at the hands of her swimming teacher, Leeroy Phiri. Meanwhile, the school says it will put the minor to strict proof at trial to establish that only Phiri committed the wrongful actions. This is in a matter where a pupil, suing through her father, is seeking exemplary damages amounting to K1,000,000 and aggravated damages amounting to K1,000,000 from the school. According to the suit, the pupil submitted that Phiri, her swimming instructor, isolated her from her friends and took her to the school hall, where he demanded a kiss on unknown dates…
