He’ll go back to drinking, just divorce us, wife dismisses hubby’s teary plea
A SILVEREST woman has told the court that her husband’s heavy drinking will not change despite him kneeling and crying in court, saying his remorse is fake and that he will return to his bad behaviour immediately after the hearing. Her husband, Timothy Phiri, showing signs of heavy drinking and visibly shivering from not having had beer, pleaded with the court not to end the marriage, saying he has nowhere to go and no one takes care of him the way his wife does. This is a matter in which Rebecca Banda, 39, of Silverest is seeking a divorce from her husband, Phiri, 40, also of Silverest, alleging that years of alcohol-fuelled violence, insults, threats and neglect of family responsibilities…
