We might have voter apathy if citizens see no real alternative to UPND – Simutanyi


POLITICAL analyst Neo Simutanyi says it is too early to predict the outcome of the 2026 general elections. He, however, warns that voter apathy could emerge if citizens feel they do not have a genuine choice among candidates. Speaking in an interview, recently, Simutanyi said the key issue ahead of the elections was whether voters would be presented with a viable alternative to the ruling party. “So really, what is at stake? We can only hypothesise what may happen. Two things; one is whether people have a real choice between those that are standing.
