922 whistleblower complaints, only 72 investigated, only one case in court, and ACC is happy? Shame!
THE statistics released by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) during the commemoration of World Whistleblower Day should worry government instead of making anyone proud. According to the Commission, 922 corruption complaints were received through the online anonymous whistleblower system from 2024 to date. Out of those 922 complaints, only 72 were authorised for investigation. Only one case has proceeded to court. These numbers tell a very disturbing story. The ACC says the low number of authorised complaints shows that most of the complaints lodged do not border on corruption.
