China and Russia to hold Joint Sea-2026 military exercise in July
China and Russia have announced plans to conduct their annual Joint Sea-2026 military exercise later this month off the coast of Qingdao, focusing primarily on joint naval operations with additional air operations.
Following the exercise, elements of both militaries are expected to conduct joint patrols in parts of the Pacific Ocean, according to China’s Ministry of National Defense. Beijing said the drills are intended to strengthen operational coordination, enhance responses to regional security challenges, and safeguard peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
No official dates, troop numbers, or equipment details have been released. The exercise comes as China and Russia continue to deepen their strategic partnership amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
