🚨 CAN JULIUS MALEMA BE ARRESTED? AFRIFORUM SAYS YES AS NEW EVIDENCE EMERGES AT THE MADLANGA COMMISSION, BUT THE EFF LEADER INSISTS HE HAS DONE NOTHING ILLEGAL 🇿🇦
AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel has renewed calls for EFF leader Julius Malema to be prosecuted following developments at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The renewed calls come after Malema submitted an affidavit confirming that the EFF was registered using funds donated by businessman Adriano Mazzotti. Malema said this information has always been public knowledge and insisted there was nothing unlawful about the donation or the party’s formation.
In his affidavit, Malema also confirmed that his wife previously lived in the same residential complex as Mazzotti under a lease agreement. He rejected media claims that the property had been provided free of charge, maintaining it was a formal rental arrangement.
The commission has also heard evidence relating to a 2014 affidavit by Mazzotti, which contains allegations involving cigarette manufacturing, tax compliance, customs issues and alleged cash payments. Mazzotti has denied wrongdoing and disputes the allegations.
At this stage, Julius Malema has not been charged, arrested or convicted of any offence. The Madlanga Commission is still hearing evidence, and AfriForum’s call for his arrest reflects the organisation’s position, not a decision by the commission or any court.
Do you think the evidence presented so far is enough for law enforcement to investigate further, or should everyone wait for the commission’s final findings?
