“THE JUNE 30 DEADLINE HAS PASSED, BUT THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CRISIS IS FAR FROM OVER,” SAYS JACINTA NGOBESE-ZUMA AS SHE ACCUSES THE GOVERNMENT OF FAILING TO ACT
March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma says South Africa’s illegal immigration problem remains unresolved despite the passing of the June 30 deadline set by activists.
Speaking during a protest, Ngobese-Zuma said her movement would not have been forced to take to the streets if the government had listened to public concerns and acted decisively on illegal immigration. She argued that many South Africans are frustrated by what they see as a lack of action from authorities.
Her comments come amid ongoing demonstrations in several communities, where protesters have called for stricter immigration enforcement and stronger border security. The issue continues to spark intense public debate, with some supporting tougher action against undocumented migrants, while others warn that enforcement must respect the law and protect the rights of all people.
The South African government has repeatedly stated that it is committed to tackling illegal immigration while ensuring that all operations are carried out within the Constitution and the country’s legal framework.
Do you agree with Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma that the government has failed to deal with illegal immigration, or do you think enough is being done? 🇿🇦
