UPND Deputy Spokesperson Elvis Nkandu says the church should not use the pulpit to support aspiring candidates in the upcoming elections. Recently, Catholic Priest Fr Henry Kabuswe said people should denounce President Hakainde Hichilema when he tells “lies” that people from Southern Province were beaten at Intercity for supporting the UPND. Commenting on this in an interview Tuesday, Nkandu said the church ought to stay neutral and not show their hate even if they do not like the ruling UPND. “Yes, they are citizens. They want to come out, and especially that they are coming out when they are on the pulpit, they are preaching the word of God. Something just tells them to go astray and say something else….
