SOUTH AFRICA’S PRESIDENCY BLASTS GHANA OVER “FALSE NARRATIVE” AS DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS SPARK HEATED DEBATE

SOUTH AFRICA’S PRESIDENCY BLASTS GHANA OVER “FALSE NARRATIVE” AS DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS SPARK HEATED DEBATE

South Africa’s Presidency has strongly criticized Ghana’s High Commission, accusing it of twisting the facts surrounding what it describes as an ordinary diplomatic meeting

Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya dismissed claims that South Africa is losing its influence on the global stage, saying the country’s international standing remains strong and that the narrative being circulated is misleading.

According to the Presidency, the meeting in question was routine and should not have been portrayed as evidence of strained diplomatic relations or declining international influence. Officials insist South Africa continues to play a leading role in regional and global affairs through its diplomatic engagements and partnerships.

The exchange has triggered widespread discussion, with many questioning what led to the disagreement and whether it could have any impact on relations between South Africa and Ghana.

Do you support the Presidency’s response, or do you believe more clarity is needed on what really happened?
