South African electronic artist and emerging tastemaker Culprit 001 teams up with Amapiano pioneer Mdu aka TRP on a hefty new record named “The Ringtone”. And in the thick of the world dance season, here comes another enormous joint, a new street hymn, poised to take over local club venues.
The ever-growing township electronic wave always asks producers to marry technical production loops with genuine street mentality. Local club-goers have been craving deep piano grooves lately, ones that keep the intensity of a late-night festival adrenaline rush, rather than plain commercial layouts. So this particular collabo is bringing together diverse creative brains to create a strong joint that hits that dancing appetite just right. Still, the infectious arrangement is a lovely screen against seasonal tension, inviting you to shed yourself on the floor.
The sound architects create a surprisingly deep, slow-burning canvas, putting down warm atmospheric keys and cutting snare loops. They add a very strong, rhythmic feel to the overall accompaniment with speaker-rattle log drums bouncing softly underneath the main tune.
