EFF President Julius Malema received what supporters described as a hero’s welcome as he addressed delegates at the Botswana National Front (BNF) National Conference in Jwaneng, Botswana.
Malema attended the conference as a guest speaker, where he spoke about African unity, governance and political cooperation across the continent. His arrival was met with loud cheers and applause from many delegates before he took to the podium.
During his address, Malema also referred to those who had previously barred him from entering Botswana, saying they were now watching him from home while he was enjoying the opportunity to visit what he described as the beautiful country of Botswana.
The warm reception has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many supporters saying it demonstrates that Malema’s popularity extends beyond South Africa’s borders. Others, however, noted that the audience consisted of delegates attending the BNF conference and expressed different views about the significance of the welcome.
The BNF National Conference brought together political leaders, delegates and supporters under the theme “Resilient BNF with Solid Structures,” with Malema’s appearance becoming one of the event’s most talked-about moments
